August 18, 1938 — August 13, 2023 Earl Thales Cannon was born August 18, 1938 in Tremonton, Utah, to Thales Byard Cannon and Ruth Jensen Cannon. He was the third of four children, having two older sisters and one younger sister. He grew up on a farm in Deweyville, Utah. He began working on the farm at a very early age and he had many responsibilities. His father taught him early in his life that the farm work had to be done. Only when it was finished could he play. When his work was done, he was free to take his fishing pole and go fishing in the nearby Bear River, practice shooting with his BB gun or play with friends.
